Available year-round, the Blackberry® is raised in bottom cages inshore of Blackberry Hang Oyster Reef in Chesapeake Bay.
These large oysters are very clean and sweet tasting with a mid-range salinity. The meats fill the white, deep-cupped shell and are pleasing to the eye as well as the palate.
ABOUT OUR OYSTERS:
We start our oysters from larvae and strike them on micro clutch to create seed. The seed is then grown through a series of upwellers until they can be deployed into bottom cages. The cages are handled every 30 days, when the oysters are run through a tumbler producing a deep cupped, high quality oyster ready to consume in 12-18 months. We can accommodate most packaging and shipping needs in the USA.
